Electronic Design Lead to join a leading UK defence organisation developing next-generation digital hardware for advanced defence systems.
This role is ideal for an experienced electronics engineer looking to take ownership of complex hardware designs while progressing towards a recognised technical leadership position.
Working on cutting-edge technologies including high-speed digital electronics, MPSo C FPGAs and AI-enabled hardware, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for demanding real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex high-speed digital electronic hardware.
- Define robust hardware architectures alongside systems, software, firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams.
- Drive electronics design activities throughout the full product development lifecycle.
- Support technical decision-making and ensure designs meet performance, reliability and customer requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and support design reviews.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of MPSo C FPGAs, DDR memory, Flash memory and high-speed interfaces.
- Experience with signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis.
- Programming experience with VHDL and either C, C++ or Python for hardware bring-up and debugging.
- Understanding of DSP concepts, signal processing or sensor technologies would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead technical collaboration across engineering disciplines.
