Electronic/Test Engineer – Stevenage (Hybrid)

We are supporting a leading technology and defence-focused organisation in recruiting an Electronic/Test Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design, test, and verification of complex electronic systems, working closely with cross-functional design and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet rigorous technical and quality standards.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong experience in electronic design and testing, who are looking to develop their skills in a structured, high-precision environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure design-for-test considerations are applied during project development.
  • Specify, implement, and manage test routines, including factory, in-service, and built-in tests (BIT).
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimise test coverage and functionality.
  • Analyse system performance to determine test coverage and generate diagnostic instructions.
  • Support decision-making on trade-offs between cost, complexity, and test coverage.
  • Manage compliance with test requirements across projects, including access needs and test timings.
  • Contribute to project planning, requirement gathering, and stakeholder communication.

What You'll Bring:

  • Substantial experience in test, electrical, or electronic engineering.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following areas: digital electronics and microprocessor systems, analogue electronics, electronics testing, or test equipment design.
  • Strong understanding of project management processes, requirement gathering, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information effectively.

Package & Structure:

  • Salary: Up to £55,000, depending on experience
  • Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (performance-based)
  • Pension: Up to 14% total contribution (employer + employee)
  • Overtime: Paid overtime opportunities
  • Flexi Leave: Up to 15 additional days
  • Flexible working: Typically 2-3 days per week on-site, with hybrid arrangements considered
