Lead Software Engineer - Product Lead Technologist
London | Hybrid -2 days a week in the office
I'm working with an innovative division of a major consultancy that's continuing to grow its engineering team.
You'll join a 180-strong engineering function working at the intersection of AI and professional services one of the industries set to be significantly transformed by generative AI.
The platform is already used by 2,500+ tax and legal professionals and thousands of clients, supporting everything from routine automated advice to complex, high-stakes decision-making.

The Role: We're looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to lead a squad of software and QA engineers building products used by professionals and clients.
You'll work closely with a Product Owner who owns prioritisation, giving you the space to focus on technical leadership, engineering excellence and building great solutions.
The role also includes line management for around four developers, alongside plenty of hands-on engineering.
What You'll Bring: Experience designing, specifying and building software end to end
The ability to articulate how generative AI can address challenges across document management, workflow automation and knowledge management
A strong track record of leading, mentoring and developing engineers
Strong experience with a modern object-oriented language, ideally C# or Java
Deep understanding of software design patterns, clean code and clean architecture
Experience building REST APIs and working with messaging systems
Confidence defining data models and working with databases
Experience delivering user-facing web applications
A collaborative Agile mindset and a genuine passion for engineering best practice
What You'll Be Doing Working within a lean Agile team using a scaled Scrum framework
