Job Title: Data Architect

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to 115,000 per annum + benefits

Are you a technically driven Data Architect with a passion for designing robust, scalable data solutions? Were looking for a highly skilled professional to join a forward-thinking engineering team, where youll play a pivotal role in shaping data architecture across analytical and real-time streaming domains.

About the Role

This is a deeply technical position focused on the full data modelling lifecycle. Youll be responsible for creating, assuring, and overseeing the implementation of data models that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data structures are optimised for performance, scalability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Define and enforce data architecture standards and best practices.
  • Align data models with business requirements and future scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Guide data integration, transformation, and migration strategies.
  • Maintain enterprise data models, dictionaries, metadata, and lineage documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
  • Optimise data products for performance and reliability.
  • Evaluate and recommend data modelling tools and technologies.

What Were Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture and modelling.
  • Experience with analytical and real-time/streaming data solutions.
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools (e.g., Erwin, Lucidchart, SAP PowerDesigner).
  • Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, SNS, S3, EKS, API Gateway).
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, big data technologies, and data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications in data modelling, cloud, or database technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise data models and API/interface modelling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Knowledge of Apache Airflow, DBT, and Atlan.
  • Understanding of iceberg tables and modern data architecture patterns.
