About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team supporting critical public services. You will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using modern DevOps practices across AWS and Kubernetes environments. This role requires an individual who is comfortable working in secure, high-assurance environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary agile teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure
- Deploy and operate Kubernetes platforms (EKS or equivalent)
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Support containerised workloads (Docker, Helm)
- Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents
- Work closely with development, architecture and security teams
- Ensure platforms meet security and compliance standards
- Contribute to technical design and continuous improvement
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC clearance (mandatory)
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS
- Strong experience with Kubernetes
- Proven experience delivering production DevOps platforms
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation / Ansible)
- CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- Container technologies (Docker, Helm)
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in agile teams
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with UK Government or public sector clients
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- SRE or reliability engineering practices
- Security-focused DevOps implementations
