This opportunity sits within a growing Data & AI Architecture capability, focused on delivering complex, high‑impact programmes at the heart of government. The role combines deep technical architecture expertise with leadership, consulting, and delivery oversight.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Lead enterprise Data & AI architecture across complex transformation programmes
- Define and implement data strategies within multi‑disciplinary environments
- Shape target architecture landscapes across large‑scale organisations
- Influence data governance, quality, and maturity across programmes
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to define and deliver outcomes
- Mentor and develop architects, engineers, and data specialists
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to industry and government standards
- Define and lead data and AI architecture strategy across programmes
- Analyse current data landscapes and define future‑state architectures
- Provide architecture oversight across delivery to ensure scalability, reliability, and resilience
- Establish and embed data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
- Lead data maturity, quality, and governance initiatives across organisations
- Support and lead proofs of concept, pilots, and innovation initiatives
- Act as a senior escalation point for data governance and compliance issues
- Lead and mentor teams across data architecture, modelling, and AI engineering
Key Requirements:
- Active SC clearance (mandatory)
- Strong experience in data architecture within complex, large‑scale environments
- Consulting experience with exposure to client‑facing delivery and pre‑sales activities
- Expertise across:
- Data modelling (dimensional, data vault, etc.)
- Data architecture frameworks and methodologies
- Data governance and data management
- Experience with Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Mesh architectures
- Strong knowledge of SQL and modern data platforms, including NoSQL and distributed systems
- Experience designing and delivering data pipelines and end‑to‑end data flows
- Understanding of cloud data platforms and deployment models (on‑prem, cloud, hybrid)
- Experience working across the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including senior and executive‑level engagement
- Experience leading teams and developing data capability
