Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will influence technical direction while continuing to deepen their expertise across cloud and DevOps practices.
Role Responsibilities:- Designing and evolving secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms
- Driving the adoption of automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
- Building and optimising solutions across Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure
- Taking ownership of services in production, ensuring reliability, performance, and security
- Diagnosing and resolving complex issues across distributed systems and environments
- Working closely with engineering, product, security, and testing teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Contributing to architecture discussions, planning activities, and technical decision-making
- Promoting DevOps best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers within the team
Strong experience working as a Senior Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer is required. Active level of Security Vetting is essential for this role. Hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and Infrastructure as Code is necessary. Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Go is expected. Experience using version control systems such as Git is also required. A proven track record of building and supporting cloud-based platforms in production is essential, along with solid experience with AWS and/or Azure environments. Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes) is important. A strong understanding of system design principles including scalability, resilience, and security is needed. A methodical approach to troubleshooting and solving complex technical challenges is crucial. Cloud certifications across AWS or Azure are preferred. Exposure to SaaS or PaaS platforms is beneficial. Experience mentoring or coaching engineers is an advantage. A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
