We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to play a senior technical role in delivering complex cloud migration and adoption programmes within highly secure environments. This position is ideal for a cloud infrastructure–focused professional who has deep AWS expertise and a strong background in large-scale migration initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to define, design, and assure robust AWS architectures, guiding customers through their cloud transformation journey while setting standards and reusable patterns for future delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for AWS migration and cloud enablement activities
- Define and document AWS architectures, including baseline, target state, roadmaps, patterns, and reference architectures
- Design and assure well-architected migration approaches across complex, multi-account AWS environments
- Develop and maintain reusable migration patterns using Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Provide architectural governance and conduct regular design and platform reviews
- Support engineering teams in optimising migration paths and resolving complex technical issues
- Drive adoption of automation, DevOps practices, and cloud-native ways of working
- Serve as an escalation point for technical troubleshooting and incident management
- Produce high-quality documentation to enable reuse, supportability, and knowledge sharing
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong, hands-on AWS experience within large-scale, enterprise environments
- Professional AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional required)
- Background in cloud infrastructure or cloud engineering rather than pure software development
- Proven experience delivering complex cloud and data centre–to–AWS migration programmes
- Expertise in AWS architecture, networking, and security services
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and Infrastructure as Code
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable AWS solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- AWS specialty certifications (Security, Advanced Networking, or similar)
- Experience operating within Agile or scaled Agile delivery frameworks
- Mentoring or leading other engineers and architects
- Experience working in regulated or high-assurance environments
