Client Director - Energy and Utilities

Location: London (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

A leading global change and transformation consultancy is looking to hire a Client Director to join its growing Energy & Utilities practice. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced consulting professional with a strong track record across Energy & Utilities, combining business development, account leadership and transformation delivery. You'll work closely with senior client stakeholders to shape and sell consulting solutions, grow strategic accounts and lead complex transformation programmes across the sector.

The Role

As a Client Director, you'll play a key role in developing the Energy & Utilities portfolio, working closely with senior leadership to define and execute the growth strategy. You'll be responsible for building trusted client relationships, identifying new opportunities, leading proposals and overseeing the delivery of high-value consulting engagements. You'll also lead and develop consulting teams, acting as a career coach while helping strengthen the firm's Energy & Utilities capability and market presence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business development and account growth across the Energy & Utilities sector.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client executives and key decision-makers.
• Identify, shape and sell new consulting opportunities across existing and prospective accounts.
• Develop account strategies and propositions that deliver measurable client value.
• Lead complex consulting engagements across areas including change management, programme delivery and technology transformation.
• Develop proposals and lead client pitches from opportunity identification through to contract.
• Manage senior stakeholders and ensure high levels of client satisfaction and delivery quality.
• Lead, mentor and develop high-performing consulting teams.
• Contribute to Energy & Utilities thought leadership, industry events and professional networks.
• Support the continued growth and development of the wider Energy & Utilities practice.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for senior consulting professionals with:

• 10+ years' experience in management consulting, advisory, professional services or Big 4 consulting.
• Strong Energy & Utilities sector experience is essential.
• Proven experience in business development and account growth.
• A strong track record of winning and expanding client relationships.
• Experience leading complex consulting and transformation engagements.
• Strong proposal development and client pitching experience.
• Proven ability to engage and build relationships with senior-level executives.
• Experience developing and leading high-performing consulting teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how to identify and convert new opportunities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to bring creative solutions to complex client challenges.
