We're partnering with a growing technology consultancy that is expanding its cloud engineering capability across the UK. As part of this growth, we're looking to speak with AWS Cloud Engineers across a range of seniority levels, from mid-level engineers through to experienced senior professionals, who are passionate about cloud-native development, automation, and modern software engineering practices.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment where you'll work on large-scale cloud platforms, serverless architectures, and business-critical applications while helping shape best practices across engineering teams.
The Role
You'll be involved in designing, building, and operating modern cloud-native solutions on AWS, working closely with product, platform, DevOps, and engineering teams throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing serverless applications using AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, and SNS
- Building and maintaining scalable APIs and event-driven architectures
- Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
- Implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Building and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tooling
- Supporting platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, and observability best practices
- Applying cloud security principles, including IAM, least-privilege access, and secrets management
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions
What We're Looking For
We're interested in engineers who can demonstrate experience in some or all of the following:
- Commercial experience building and operating solutions on AWS
- Strong development skills using Node.js, TypeScript, and/or JavaScript
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, IAM, and S3
- Understanding of cloud security best practices and secure application design
- Experience working within Agile software delivery environments
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or DevOps Engineer are highly desirable
Desirable Experience
Any exposure to the following would be advantageous:
- React or modern front-end frameworks
- Java, Go, C#, Rust, or other strongly typed languages
- Internal platform engineering or developer platform ownership
- Event-driven architectures using EventBridge, Kinesis, Kafka, SQS, or SNS
- Contact centre, voice, or AWS Connect environments
