A leading technology services provider is seeking a skilled Cisco Lead Engineer to join their on-site team in Stevenage. This is a critical role focused on supporting and developing voice and video communication infrastructure across a global enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in VoIP systems, PBX platforms, and Cisco Unified Communication technologies, with a strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in large-scale, distributed networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead engineer for Cisco UC and telephony infrastructure, handling Level 2/3 support and escalations.
  • Support and maintain Cisco UC platforms including CUCM, Unity Connection, Jabber, and Webex.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve call quality, signalling (SIP/H.323), and connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with other operations teams to support project delivery and ensure platform stability.
  • Lead local incident response and support global change and project initiatives.
  • Provide knowledge sharing and technical mentoring to colleagues.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience working with VoIP systems, PBX platforms, and Cisco Unified Communications.
  • In-depth knowledge of SIP, H.323, and other voice signalling protocols.
  • Strong networking foundation, with an emphasis on VoIP traffic flow, QoS, and network diagnostics.
  • Proven ability to manage incidents and troubleshoot complex issues in a high-availability environment.
  • Experience with Cisco video platforms such as TMS, Pexip, and Cisco endpoints is desirable.
  • Familiarity with VMware environments and relevant tools is a plus.
