We are partnering with a leading technology consultancy that delivers large-scale cloud solutions for complex organisations. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will help clients build, operate, and optimise secure, scalable platforms on Google Cloud.
This is a hands-on, technical leadership role where you'll set direction, define standards, and ensure high-quality delivery. You'll work closely with clients and cross-disciplinary teams to design innovative cloud solutions, while mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices across the organisation.
What You'll Be Working On:
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud, including serverless, Kubernetes, and compute-based environments
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Terraform, and other DevOps tools
- Implement automated monitoring, security, and governance practices across cloud environments
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
- Lead technical discussions, provide guidance on architecture, and troubleshoot complex issues
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across teams
- Ensure delivery aligns with compliance, security, and operational standards
What They Are Looking For:
- Hands-on experience with GCP services such as Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, GKE, Compute Engine, VPCs, Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery
- Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and automated testing
- Competence in scripting or programming (Python, Bash, Node.js)
- Familiarity with security practices, IAM, service perimeters, and hardened cloud platforms
- Agile delivery experience and strong collaboration skills
- Bonus skills: Experience with other cloud providers, DevSecOps automation, Apigee/API Gateway, or AI/ML-enabled cloud services
Security Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC or DV) if required.
