The Opportunity:
Take your engineering career to the next level by supporting a high-profile Air Defence programme. As part of the Platform Communications Team, you’ll provide critical through-life support for the Platform Data Link Terminal (PDLT)—a key subsystem within this advanced defence system.
The Role:
As a System Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous evolution of cutting-edge defence technology. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting analysis and generating reports on new technologies to enhance system capabilities
- Engaging with stakeholders and collaborating with technology specialists
- Supporting the delivery of advanced weapon systems to UK and international defence partners
- Challenging existing processes and driving improvements
To excel in this role as a System Engineer, you should have:
- Strong experience in network communications and system integration
- Proven ability in engineering product delivery and technical problem-solving
- Familiarity with defence or secure communications environments
- Hands-on experience with test and validation methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
While not essential, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML/UML (preferably Rhapsody)
- Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS
