London – Hybrid

Up to £100,000 + bonus

A global leader in IT Solutions and Consulting are currently growing their Intelligent Automation QA practice in London.

You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring early-stage testing (Shift-Left Testing) is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.

You’ll bring extensive experience with various automation frameworks tailored for different types of testing—including unit, integration, UI, and end-to-end—using tools such as WebdriverIO, Cypress, and Playwright. Mentoring and training your team on the latest testing tools and methodologies will be a key part of your role and you’ll continuously refine quality engineering practices.

Key Skills of the Automation Architect/Lead SDET (QA):

Expertise in designing and implementing advanced test automation frameworks using object-oriented and scripting languages.
Deep understanding of test automation strategies, including test-first approaches (BDD, ATDD).
Strong experience integrating quality engineering into Agile development workflows.
Proficient in Git workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing.
Hands-on experience with Web UI, API/Microservice, and non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility).
Ability to collaborate effectively with front-end and back-end teams to align testing with system architecture.
Skilled in Windows/Linux command line usage and applying software engineering best practices (SOLID, design patterns).
Experience with cloud applications, mobile automation, and contract testing is a plus.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities, with a consultancy-driven approach.
