Ansible Motion, a world leader in advanced Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulation technology, is looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our growing design office. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of some of the most advanced simulation platforms used by global automotive, motorsport, and technology innovators.

Based in our modern HQ in Hethel, Norfolk – at the heart of the UK\’s high-performance engineering cluster – you’ll be part of a passionate, cross-functional team driving innovation in simulation. Your Responsibilities

  • Create and develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs using CAD software
  • Generate high-quality engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and part lists
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to support part sourcing and cost estimation
  • Review and check engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and design integrity
  • Maintain and update existing CAD models and drawings
  • Work collaboratively across departments including controls, software, and production
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of components

What You’ll Need – Essential Skills & Experience

  • Solid hands-on experience with CAD software
  • Background working within a Design Office environment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within an engineering or manufacturing company
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (degree, HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent industry experience)
  • Strong skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Bonus Points – Desirable Skills

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Background in the automotive or motorsport sectors
