Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking a Certified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologists (X-ray/CT) to support operations at the Northport VA Medical Center located at 79 Middleville Rd, Northport, NY 11768. Shifts include working days, evenings, nights and to include a weekend rotation. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes (X-ray, CT, MR)
- Prepare patients for procedures, provide education, reassurance, and support
- Perform diagnostic imaging exams per service procedures; locate and record internal body elements
- Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal images; adjust equipment and position patients to eliminate artifacts and minimize radiation exposure
- Monitor patients for physical/emotional changes during exams and notify appropriate staff of abnormalities
- Prepare and administer contrast agents as needed
- Follow all national and local guidelines, including VA National Health Physics Program
- Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy; take corrective action as needed
- Log data into patient information systems and update file systems
- Clean and disinfect equipment and workspace per SOP
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and arrange for repair
- Prepare digital images for radiologist interpretation; use PACS for image/report transmission
- Complete scheduled and unscheduled work accurately and on time to maximize productivity
- Practice safety measures in radiography, radiation safety, infection control, and environment of care
- Apply professional code of ethics and demonstrate professionalism, tact, and sound judgment
- Communicate courteously with patients, families, coworkers, and supervisors
- Adhere to all facility and service-level policies and procedures
- Respond to patient care inquiries and document delays in medical records with reasons and plans
- Participate in quality improvement and staff meetings as required
- Follow all medical center policies, including infection control
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice Radiologic Technology in a U.S. state, territory, or D.C. (full, unrestricted license)
- ARRT certification in general radiologic technology
- Advanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) for those providing specialty coverage
- For MR: Knowledge of superconducting magnets, safety, and anatomy as it relates to MR imaging
- Minimum of three years of experience on advanced modality or minimum number of cases for each type of procedure performed
- Experience in:
- General radiography (X-ray, fluoroscopy)
- CT (including 3D reconstructions, biopsies, vascular exams, cardiac CT, interventional/CT procedures)
- MR (if applicable)
- Bone densitometry/DEXA
- Use of contrast agents, sterile supplies, and related equipment
- Portable and C-arm cases (including pain management)
- Digital radiography and PACS

Position Pays: $55.00-$65.09/hr
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
