Role Purpose: To lead the translation of SAP Finance into Oracle Fusion Financials, ensuring simplified finance processes, accurate and auditable data migration, effective UAT and reconciliation, proactive risk management, and a controlled, assured go-live.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance Functional Design & SAP to Oracle Translation: Lead functional design across Oracle Fusion Financials (GL, AP, AR, Assets, Cash Management). Translate SAP FI/CO processes into Oracle Fusion best-practice designs. Challenge and simplify legacy SAP customisation and Local Authority workarounds. Design Oracle-standard chart of accounts, ledgers, calendars, and posting rules. Act as Finance Design Authority.
- Data Migration & Financial Integrity: Define finance data migration scope (migrate vs summarise vs archive). Own finance data migration rules for opening balances, AP/AR open items, assets, and bank balances. Support finance data cleansing prior to System Integrator mobilisation. Validate migrated data and opening balances through reconciliation. Ensure auditability and alignment with external audit requirements.
- Risk Management & Governance: Identify and manage finance functional, data, and control risks. Maintain a Finance risk register with mitigation actions. Escalate risks impacting statutory reporting, cash position, or audit outcomes. Support Design Authority and SteerCo decision making.
- Testing, UAT & Reconciliation: Define realistic finance test scenarios covering end-to-end processes. Lead Finance input into SIT and UAT. Ensure testing covers source-to-pay, order-to-cash, and record-to-report. Lead financial reconciliation during testing and cutover. Support defect triage based on financial impact.
- Financial Controls, Audit & Compliance: Ensure Oracle Fusion design supports segregation of duties and approval workflows. Validate audit trails and period-end controls. Support statutory reporting and year-end processes.
- Cutover, Go-Live & Hypercare: Support finance cutover planning and sequencing. Validate finance readiness for go-live. Support go-live assurance from a finance risk perspective. Provide finance support during hypercare and stabilisation.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven SAP Finance to Oracle Fusion Financials implementation experience.
- Strong SAP FI/CO background.
- Oracle Fusion Financials functional expertise.
- Finance data migration and reconciliation experience.
- Experience leading or supporting UAT.
- Experience operating in Local Authority or regulated environments.
