The Azure & Identity Architect is primarily responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and supporting Azure architecture and governance. This role also includes responsibilities related to identity management, such as designing and implementing robust IAM solutions on the Azure platform, developing secure, scalable architectures for identity governance, authentication, and authorization. The position holder will work and coordinate with the Global IT Infrastructure Team to engineer and administer multiple Microsoft and 3rd party technology corporate services.
Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities:
- Design and Engineer Solutions: Develop and implement Microsoft Azure solutions to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Support cluster and disaster recovery strategies to maintain continuous high availability of business-critical applications.
- System Administration: Perform routine system administration and maintenance on both local and remote locations.
- Documentation: Keep documentation current for all supported systems.
- Infrastructure Management: Proactively analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Design and implement robust IAM solutions on the Azure platform, ensuring secure, scalable architectures for identity governance, authentication, and authorization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to provide solutions and technical guidance during development, deployment, and practical implementation.
- Governance Policies: Develop and enforce Azure governance policies to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Azure Blueprints: Implement Azure Blueprints to create fully compliant environments, including resources, policies, and role-access controls.
- Policy-Based Management: Use Azure Policy to apply policy-based management across all Azure services.
- Cost Management: Monitor and manage costs using Azure Cost Management tools, optimizing cloud spend by analyzing costs and monitoring usage from a single dashboard.
- Compliance and Audit: Ensure consistent development environments through policy enforcement and create an audit trail to identify compliance issues.
- Management Groups: Apply policies with flexible hierarchies to multiple subscriptions using Azure Management Groups.
- Resource Visibility: Maintain visibility into all resources with Azure Resource Graph.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 7 years in Microsoft Azure.
- Minimum of 5 years in Hyper-V & VMware environments.
- Minimum of 5 years in Windows Server Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years in Office 365.
- Strong experience in PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with Azure Backups and Azure Site Recovery.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT processes and best practices related to backup and recovery, and storage.
- Experience creating disaster recovery plan documents.
- Group Policies, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory.
- Networking understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, etc.
- ITIL tools & processes.
- Working against established SLAs and monitoring them.
Key Position Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, IT, related field, or relevant work experience.
- Azure Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Professional desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Highly motivated and ambitious, go-getter with a hunger for learning new technology.
