We are seeking an IT Support Engineer who will be responsible for the coordination and day-to-day control of all IT and web-based systems. This position will report to the IT & Facilities Manager. In the role, you will escalate risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manner where necessary, whilst ensuring that information on all the designated IT systems is accurate and up to date. The successful candidate will also support the IT department in achieving the set company deliverables of IT Management, ensuring all processes are mapped and audited regularly to ensure compliance with the appropriate business requirements i.e. JSOX, ISO9001/ISO14001.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordination and day-to-day control of IT and IT suppliers including supporting other departments.
- Management and control of the web-based applications and functions in the business.
- Adhere to controls for internal and external audits.
- Administration of the backend of the systems ensuring all is kept up to date.
- Understand data flow between systems and be able to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
- Escalate risks and issues in a timely and appropriate manner where necessary.
- Assist in the successful delivery of key projects ensuring all support documentation is in place.
- Ensure that current processes and capabilities are fully understood and documented.
- Assist in IT projects and process change projects for the business.
- Any other duties and projects as assigned by IT & Facilities Manager relating to IT.
- Looking at and spec’ing improvement opportunities for the wider business.
- Good Excel knowledge and handling of data.
- Understanding and control of business IT infrastructure across all sites.
Quality
- IT Issues & Downtime reporting on corrective actions and downtime in an effective manner.
- Ensure IT management processes, systems and procedures deliver continuous improvement in the businesses IT Systems.
- IT project involvement including end-to-end testing and support.
- Ensuring all information is processed correctly and efficiently.
Cost
- To support in continuously improving the IT processes to seek continuous improvement in productivity.
- Build supplier relationships to ensure their commitment to deliver IT Support in line with all the site’s requirements for quality, timeliness, and cost.
Safety
- Create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Regulations at all levels through facilitating and planning training, communication, risk assessments and audits.
People Management
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with people at all levels, ensuring regular communication with IT Project Manager and IT third-party suppliers.
- Daily contact with all department staff and managers – highlighting problems and identifying actions to solve/prevent problems.
On Call
- On-call will be required to suit business requirements when “out of hours”. This will be defined based on the non-working hours of the IT department. Remote assistance primarily but dependent on requirements.
