Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Marine Electronic Systems Service Engineer to join our UK team. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and commissioning our equipment fitted to Royal Naval Vessels, both the in UK and, on occasion, abroad. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and be an effective problem-solver able to work under their own initiative as a prominent member of the team

Responsibilities:

Maintain knowledge of existing Anschütz Maritime Navigation, steering & surveillance system products to a level able to install, diagnose, maintain and repair systems unsupervised.
Perform installation, setting to work, commissioning, service, maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Service Manager, sometimes at short notice.
Provide occasional out of hours support if required.
Provide telephone and e-mail technical support to customers and service partners.
Manage detailed records of surveys/ repairs, adhering to contracted KPIs and keeping Service manager informed.
Document all service activities as detailed in quality procedures, including Helpdesk calls, Site Reports, Defect Reports, Delivery Notes and Job Cards.
To be CONDO (Contractor on Deployed Operations Overseas) enabled for deployment overseas at short notice.
Provide equipment familiarisation training for users/customers

Essential Skills:

Knowledge and service experience of marine electronics systems including radar systems, Electronic chart systems, Navigation aids and steering control systems.
Experience in building, configuring and fault diagnosis of PC based systems and networking required.
Ability to prepare and participate in offsite activities in a self-sufficient way whilst working within the framework of company policies. Travelling within and outside of the UK for various reasons such as service visits and OEM training courses.
Must be prepared to work on offshore oil installations or go to sea on commercial or military vessels for short periods and to travel within the UK and abroad at short notice.
Must have a driving licence and passport.
Must have or be able to get Security Clearance from the UK Defence Vetting Agency.

Desired Attributes:

Experience in RN/maritime environment would be an advantage.

Education

HNC or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).
