Purpose of the Role
Key Account Managers are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while consultatively selling into an existing client base.
The purpose of this role is to drive net growth across a defined SMB portfolio, strengthen long‑term client relationships, and ensure client retention through strategic partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 60 SMB accounts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with responsiveness and passion.
- Demonstrate strong consultative sales techniques, including objection handling and conflict resolution.
- Achieve performance KPIs and sales targets.
- Upsell and cross‑sell relevant solutions into the client base.
- Maintain structured, regular communication including service reviews and commercial reviews involving internal senior stakeholders (Heads of, Directors).
- Proactively renew client contracts.
- Ensure proposed solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to client needs.
- Act as an escalation point for clients when required. Reduce customer churn by ensuring clients feel valued and supported.
- Build strategic, trusted‑advisor relationships to help clients improve business efficiency and reduce risk.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders, influencers, and decision makers.
