Key Account Managers are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service while consultatively selling into an existing client base. The purpose of this role is to drive net growth across a defined SMB portfolio, strengthen long‑term client relationships, and ensure client retention through strategic partnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 60 SMB accounts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with responsiveness and passion.
- Demonstrate strong consultative sales techniques, including objection handling and conflict resolution.
- Achieve performance KPIs and sales targets.
- Upsell and cross‑sell relevant solutions into the client base.
- Maintain structured, regular communication including service reviews and commercial reviews involving internal senior stakeholders (Heads of, Directors).
- Proactively renew client contracts.
- Ensure proposed solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to client needs.
- Act as an escalation point for clients when required.
- Reduce customer churn by ensuring clients feel valued and supported.
- Build strategic, trusted‑advisor relationships to help clients improve business efficiency and reduce risk.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders, influencers, and decision makers.
