The primary purpose of the role is to provide calibration and repair activities for Anritsu test & measurement products to support UK, EU & MEA based customers in the following technology areas:

  • Radio Frequency & Microwave
  • Digital Transmission
  • Optical (Optical Spectrum Analyser and OTDR)
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Digital Mobile Radio (Wireless)

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • To inspect, fault find, calibrate and repair all Anritsu products with initial focus on RF/ΞΌw (and Digital) equipment.
  • To maintain the laboratory & test equipment used in calibration and repair activity, making sure it is in good working order and within the correct and current calibrations (i.e. for ISO17025 traceability etc).
  • To produce Anritsu EMEA quality documentation after carrying out any service work (i.e. detailed call report, results sheets, equipment lists, calibration certificates etc).
  • To work closely with the Anritsu EMEA Sales & Service Support Team to ensure all internal procedures are followed for recording service calls (i.e. booking in/out procedures, parts consumed, parts ordered, time spent, work completed etc within the SBO system, warranty reclaim etc).
  • On-site work at customer facilities will also be required in UK, EU and MEA but this will be based on experience and knowledge and will be no more than 25% of the time.
  • Ensure all Anritsu Quality and Conformance requirements are met as per the Anritsu Quality Manual and procedures and the direction of the Anritsu Compliance Manager.
  • Attend training courses and seminars as required which could mean travel to the US and/or Japan depending on the product and the service requirement.
  • Generally assist other Anritsu EMEA Service Engineers and the EMEA Demo Pool as required.
  • To inspect, test and prepare Anritsu demonstration equipment as required for onward sale to customers.
  • Produce reports, statistics and summaries of activity as required.
  • Maintain the department in a clean, organised, tidy & generally presentable condition.

To join us in this key role you will need to possess these essentials:

  • A proven background (with relevant technical qualification or equivalent technical experience) in Telecommunications Engineering, especially RF & Microwave hardware engineering knowledge and skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills including ability to adopt lateral thinking approach to fault finding and problem resolution.
  • Good communication and relationship building skills especially when dealing with customers.
  • Full / valid Driving License and Fluent English is a must.
  • An independent, well organised, self motivated and focused personality, able to work alone and unsupervised and with minimum direction when at customer premises.
  • Flexible and willing to accept short notice tasking and changes to work routines.
  • Ability to absorb information quickly & accurately.
  • Attention to detail, proactive and excellent communication skills.
  • A strong willingness to travel and work away from the home environment across the EMEA region.
  • Previous experience in the repair and calibration of telecommunication equipment, specifically test and measurement equipment would be nice to have.
  • Experienced in the on-site environment and the field service role would be an advantage.
  • Understanding and use of uncertainty of measurements.
  • Knowledge of Digital Telecommunications & Optical Communications is a plus.
  • Another European Language would be an advantage.
