Learning and Development Consultant
East Yorkshire – office based or remote working with travel to the office, dependant on location
Full-Time
£50,000 – £55,000
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Consultant to join our established client based in East Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of learning and development, including needs assessment, program design, delivery, and evaluation. This role involves collaborating with clients to delivery their training needs and developing strategies to enhance their workforce's capabilities.
You will be working within a highly supportive and collaborative environment, partnering with businesses to develop tailored training programs that foster employee growth, improve skills, and drive engagement. The successful candidate will have a deep desire to create and implement training solutions and a focus for continual improvement. You will have an engaging and influential communication style that ensures excellent learner and stakeholder engagement. The ability to work using your own initiative and manage prioritise workloads in order to meet competing demands is key to your success
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars using blended learning solutions both in-person and virtually
- Implement evaluation techniques to assess the effectiveness of training programs, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on best practices in learning and development
- Working with the wider team to identify clients’ learning and development needs, presenting training proposals to potential and existing clients.
- Support the development of customised training programs, content and materials that align with clients’ strategic goals and address identified skill gaps including videos and podcasts for the online learning platform
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in the learning and development field to continuously develop and enhance offerings.
- Prepare and present reports on training effectiveness, ROI, and recommendations for future initiatives.
- Engage in one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions, both in-person and virtually.
Skills required
- Proven experience of working as a learning and development business partner, either in-house or consultancy (your experience could be as a pure L&D professional or someone within HR or OD that has also lead some key learning and development initiatives within organisations)
- Experience of designing and delivering end to end learning solutions at all levels, from operations to senior leadership learning initiatives.
- A strong understanding in leadership development principles and design methodologies
- An engaging and influential communication style that ensures excellent learner and stakeholder engagement
- The ability to work independently, collaboratively and take initiative, prioritising workload accordingly
- Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills, to establish credibility and to influence at all levels – both written and verbal.
- A strong learning agility, having a proven experience of learning and adapting to new challenges.
- Experience designing content and developing training programmes – proficient in using learning management systems (LMS)
- Experience of using psychometric tools and cognitive assessments would be an advantage
- CIPD accreditation.
