Our Seasonal Kitchen Porter role
This position is offered on a fixed term basis until mid-November, prior to our seasonal closure, working 16 hours per week.
We’re looking for a dynamic and dependable Seasonal Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team at Another Place, The Machrie.
With your dedication and attention to detail, you’ll help maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
From washing and sanitising dishes to keeping preparation areas tidy, you’ll ensure a smooth operation that everyone can take pride in.
But it’s not just about cleaning and organization.
You’ll also help chefs prepare ingredients, handle deliveries, and support the wider kitchen team, gaining valuable experience and building a strong foundation for your culinary career.

As our Seasonal Kitchen Porteryou’llbe
- Ensuring the cleaning of all kitchen equipment, as required by the Executive Chef and Head Chef, such as utensils, and floor and working surfaces in the kitchen and adjacent areas, is carried out satisfactorily.
- Carrying out other duties as required to the Executive Chef, Head Chef and Management.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene to the standard required by the hotel and by law.
- Ensuring full refuse bags are removed and replaced promptly, and that full swing bins are removed and replaced immediately, as well as clearing any spillages.
- Cleaning the floor area daily and at the Chef’s discretion.
- Sweeping and cleaning the corridors and passageways through the kitchen.
- Washing crockery, cutlery and ensuring that work surfaces are clean and tidy.
- Cleaning all pots in the pot wash area and maintaining cleanliness of the area.
- Helping with any preparation needed for daily service.
- Assisting the smooth running of all aspects of the kitchen and back of house areas.
- Maintaining an organised, clean and safe workplace for all.
- Correctly recording all waste in the appropriate method.
