Offering monthly tips, use of our Championship Links Golf Course, and an annual £2,598 Islay Living Allowance (paid monthly) for all off-site team. We’re looking for an energetic and friendly Golf Operations Assistant to support our Golf Operations team at Another Place, The Machrie. Reporting to our Golf Operations Supervisor and Golf General Manager, you’ll be essential to our day-to-day operations, ensuring that guests, members, and team interactions exceed expectations.

Existing within a dynamic team, this exciting role offers unmatched golf opportunities, access to our Championship Links Golf Course, the freedom to improve your golf game, and a community of welcoming like-minds eager to lend a helping hand. This is a seasonal position from August until October.

As our Golf Operations Assistant you’ll:

  • Manage tee sheets and check-ins for all golfers, ensuring bookings and payments are accurate and efficient.
  • Maintain the starter facility to a high standard – clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.
  • Support golf events, helping with preparation, administration, and smooth execution.
  • Handle rental and equipment hire, keeping all items clean, in good working order, stored correctly, and ready for use.
  • Maintain outdoor golf areas, including preparing carts, restocking the ball machine, and collecting and cleaning balls.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, continuously improving operations and exceeding expectations.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Educated to high school level (or above).
  • Golf qualification or certification (preferred).
  • Valid clean driving licence and relevant driving experience.
  • Good general knowledge of golf.
  • Prior experience in hotel, retail, or customer service (preferred).
  • Ability to work under your own initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and develop yourself within a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule approach that adapts to evolving business needs and demands.
  • Previous experience of island living, or equivalent (desirable).

Due to the hotel’s remote location, you will require a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle. We also offer team accommodation within same-sex residences (where possible).
