We’re looking for a Duty House Manager to deliver memorable, meaningful, and elevated experiences for our guests – from first impression to final goodbye. Guests will remember you for underpinning the happiness that shaped their stay, and locals will remember you for your close attention to detail. You’ll embody the spirit of Another Place with your friendly welcome, effortless charm, and seamless efficiency, and oversee our Front Desk team.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. As our House Manager you’ll be:

  • Enhancing the guest experience at every stage, from first contact to farewell, with a thoughtful and proactive approach.
  • Anticipating needs, resolving issues seamlessly, and handling feedback with professionalism and care.
  • Acting as a knowledgeable point of contact for all guest enquiries, with a strong understanding of the hotel, its systems, and procedures.
  • Supporting, guiding, and inspiring the host team to deliver a consistently guest-focused experience.
  • Maintaining high standards across guest-facing areas, working closely with housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Overseeing bookings and guest communications, ensuring each stay is well-prepared and tailored.
  • Keeping up to date with allergy procedures and supporting safe, informed service.
  • Managing end-of-day processes and liaising with accounts where required.

You’ll also:

  • Support wider operations as needed, working collaboratively across departments.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Licensing requirements.
  • Act as a First Aid responder and Fire Warden as required.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with guests and team members.
  • Previous experience of island living (or equivalent).
  • Highly organised, with strong administrative and time-management skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, particularly for high-end and diverse clientele.
  • Confident coordinating guest journeys, including arrivals, departures and on-island experiences.
  • Comfortable working across departments, with a hands-on approach when required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Personal Licence holder (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous F&B experience (desirable).
  • First Aid qualification (desirable).
