We’re looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our team. You’ll be passionate about good food and have the opportunity to work across two of our thriving kitchens, learning from our exceptional Head Chef. There’s the Living Space – for easy lakeside eating, meeting and lounging – and our Rampsbeck Restaurant, inspired by the region’s produce – with dishes that showcase heritage ingredients and flavours rooted in place, expressed with contemporary flair.
You’ll bring culinary passion, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail to the team, whilst supporting the creation of innovative menus and kitchen operations. You’ll ensure top-notch food quality with your culinary finesse and unwavering team commitment, delivering extraordinary dining experiences to our guests.

As our Junior Sous Chef you’ll be:
- Assisting our Sous Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen.
- Preparing, cooking, and portioning all dishes to our high standards of quality and quantity.
- Assisting with team management, supporting and training chefs as required.
- Ensuring efficient stock procurement in line with accurate receipt handling and proper storage.
- Ensuring that working areas are always kept clean.
- Helping to maintain a safe environment for both team and guests, adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
- Reporting for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and any required protective clothing, and maintaining specified grooming standards.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested.

- Knowledgeable of ingredients, with the ability to use them in a creative way.

- Excellent timekeeping for food monitoring and quality assurance.
- Previous experience in a similar establishment.
- NVQ 1 Food Hygiene certificate/training.
- Strong knowledge of core culinary techniques.
- Proficient in English language.
- A flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns.
- An interest in, and passion for, the food industry.
- Creative with a strong awareness of current catering trends.
- Excellent International culinary knowledge across various cuisine types (desirable).
- Good Financial knowledge.
- Good IT/computer proficiency.
- Responsible and calm under extreme pressure.
