We’re looking for an energetic, positive Childcare Manager (or Early Years Manager) to lead our Kids’ Zone family. We know the true power of play, indoors and out, and would rather spend our time providing quality play sessions than completing paperwork‑based assessments. We are an Ofsted registered setting, within the hotel, offering supervised sessions to guests’ children as well as non‑residents.
Our Childcare Manager role
We’re seeking an experienced leader with the relevant NVQ Level 3 Childcare qualification (or equivalent), and proven management experience in an Early Years setting. The outdoors is our playground, and we know how to make the most of it, whatever the weather. We care for children aged 6 months to 12 years old and provide a babysitting service for children on request. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours over 5 days, and job sharing of the position could be considered.
As our Childcare Manager you’ll be:
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and high‑quality environment in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and support the team to deliver outstanding, inclusive play sessions where children build friendships and develop new skills.
- Act as a positive role model through hands‑on leadership, supporting individual needs and building strong partnerships with parents.
- Ensure the setting remains Ofsted‑ready and confidently lead the team through inspections.
- Recruit, induct, and train team members, delivering ongoing professional development and maintaining high practice standards.
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and food safety requirements at all times.
- Hold a Level 3 (or equivalent) Early Years qualification with strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and SEND practice.
What we’ll offer you
- A relaxed, professional place to work in a beautiful location – right on the shores of Ullswater.
- Meals and drinks whilst on duty.
- Uniform (provided).
- Share of hotel tips monthly.
- Special rates for you and your friends & family to stay at Another Place, SeaSpace, and Watergate Bay Hotels.
- Discounts on our swim club, treatments and lake activities.
- Food and drink discounts across our restaurants and The Brackenrigg Inn pub.
- Discount on food when on shift.
- Your birthday day as extra day off (eligible after 12-months).
- Free onsite parking.
- Team assistance scheme – a dedicated helpline for support & advice on topics from mental health through to managing your finances.
Please note an enhanced DBS will be obtained upon employment.
