Another Place, The Lake is a vibrant hotel located on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. We are seeking an energetic and positive Childcare Manager to lead our Kids’ Zone family and provide high‑quality play sessions to guests’ children aged 6 months to 12 years.
Responsibilities
- Manage the setting and team for effective childcare, adhering to the Statutory Framework, company policies, and Our B‑Corp and core values.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating environment reflecting our values.
- Motivate and support the team on a daily basis.
- Ensure every child receives a high‑quality play session that encourages friendships and learning.
- Act as a positive role model through hands‑on sessions, assessing individual needs and facilitating smooth transitions with parents.
- Lead the team to be always Ofsted ready and through subsequent inspections.
- Collaborate with the team in developing and implementing policies, ensuring inclusivity.
- Recruit, induct, and provide the relevant training, lead regular training sessions and evaluate practices.
- Ensure personal development with up‑to‑date knowledge and skills.
- Enforce health & safety and food safety requirements.
- Ensure resources reflect our brand and the setting is always at its best.
- Take on a mixture of day and evening shifts throughout the year, including weekends and public holidays.
Qualifications
- Recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent.
- Proven management experience within an Early Years setting.
- Excellent knowledge of budgeting processes.
- Experience of Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS and Statutory Framework.
- Experience of understanding confidentiality and managing challenging situations sensitively.
- Ability to manage inclusive practice with knowledge of SEND.
- Energetic team player with a positive attitude and outlook.
- Excellent communicator who remains calm under pressure.
