Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Production Support Engineer (Electrical engineering) located in Kendal, UK.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Provide day-to-day electrical engineering support to production / operations.
  • Support the resolution of production issues, technical queries, and manufacturing RFIs relating to electrical design, schematics, wiring, GAs and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Review and update electrical BOM’s (QMF70), ensuring changes are controlled, accurate and clearly communicated to Production, Supply Chain and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the sourcing and review of alternative electrical components where required.
  • Update and support controlled electrical drawings and documentation, including schematics, SLD’s, wiring diagrams, device schedules, terminal schedules, labels, GAs and associated manufacturing information.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from production issue identification through to implementation, ensuring actions, approvals, drawing updates, BOM changes and production cut-in requirements are clearly controlled and communicated.
  • Defining, creating and implementing Production Support standard operating procedures (SOPS’s).
  • Support design corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) where electrical design input is required.
  • Support Product Change Notices (PCNs), ensuring updates are controlled through the appropriate process.
  • Work closely with Electrical Design, Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, Mechanical Design and BIM teams to support project delivery.
  • Support production reviews, internal root-cause investigations where electrical engineering input is required.
  • Provide support during FAT, internal testing and customer witness activities where required.
  • Contribute to Engineering Excellence by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, safety.
  • Promote proactive risk identification, mitigation and resolution throughout the production and project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all work is performed in line with the Anord Mardix Quality Management System, applicable project requirements and company Health and Safety requirements.

The experience we’re looking to add to the team:

  • Experience within an electrical design, production support, manufacturing engineering or product support role.
  • Experience with LV Switchgear, modular power systems or similar engineered to order products is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, general arrangements, specifications, BOMs and production documentation.
  • Practical understanding of electrical components, component substitution, manufacturing and change control.
  • Experience updating BOMs and engineering data within business systems, ERP/MRP processes, is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of 2D CAD tools, preferably Autodesk AutoCAD or similar.
  • Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems such as Autodesk Vault is advantageous.
  • Practical, proactive and flexible approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication; verbal, written and presentational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting wider team goals and business priorities.
  • A full UK driving licence is required, where occasional travel between sites is required.
