To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Junior IBAR Mechanical Designer located in Kendal, England. Based at our IBAR facility and reporting to the IBAR Design Manager, the Junior IBAR Mechanical Designer role will be part of an excellent engineering team, whose members are strong communicators, ambitious & innovative. You will work within the IBAR Design team and get a full overview of the life cycle of the product along with the technical acumen required for the role.

What a typical day looks like:

  • You will carry out project design, from initial concept through to detail design, including generation of Bills of Materials and production drawings;
  • Produce manufacturing drawings in line with Company and International Standards and generate production documentation as required to improve the production process (work instructions, etc);
  • Assisting Engineers in the completion of Assembly drawings in line with project specifications;
  • Maintain accurate & complete design records in line with our Document Control function (Autodesk Vault);
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers (mechanical engineering, production and site team);
  • Proactive risk identification, mitigation and resolution; opportunity & issues identification throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Participate in all aspects of “team” development and goal achievement “Engineering Excellence” and help drive continuous improvement activities within Engineering & Production.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Good understanding of Engineering or related technical discipline;
  • Previous exposure to or experience with electrical equipment design would be preferable;
  • Knowledge of Autodesk engineering tools would be advantageous (Inventor, Vault, Revit);
  • Mechanical design experience is preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentational skills;
  • Ability to travel to other Anord Mardix locations when requested.
