To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a new Mechanical Supervisor based out of Hemel Hempstead centre but most days will be on sites.

Summary

Reporting to the local Site Service Manager, this is a UK-based role with significant international travel, including extended assignments across Europe.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Overseeing and supervising all maintenance and installation works, including equipment dispatched to site
  • Supervising and coordinating employees and contractors on site
  • Interconnecting LV switchgear
  • Monitoring project progress and providing status reports
  • Completing certificates and documentation for client handover and testing
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders as required
  • Ensuring works are delivered efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Implementing and promoting effective risk management practices
  • Identifying, assessing, and controlling health and safety hazards
  • Leading QHSE compliance and ensuring awareness across all site activities
  • Conducting site risk assessments and maintaining accurate records
  • Delivering toolbox talks and task briefings
  • Ensuring method statements are communicated, understood, and followed
  • Verifying workforce competence and appropriate training for tasks
  • Ensuring Permit to Work systems are correctly applied
  • Monitoring site activities and intervening promptly to address issues or unsafe practices
  • Ensuring proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, and equipment, including safe work at height
  • Promoting site safety, welfare, fire prevention, and reporting incidents/near misses to the Project Manager

The experience & qualification we’re looking to add to our team:

  • A current SSSTS & UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • A valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate
  • A current and relevant ESC Card
  • Experience in Mechanical installation of Switchgear and in a supervisor role.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious with a high standard of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
