Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer role will be part of an excellent design team, whose members are strong communicators, ambitious and innovative.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Orders, reschedules and cancellations based on requisitions and MRP output.
  • Tracking shipments, urging them if needed.
  • Filing and recording all necessary documents.
  • Checking the inventory of critical materials according to the Shortage List.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery and inventories.
  • Manages supplier to price, delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate.
  • Approves invoices for payment.
  • Monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle.
  • Maintains procurement records, reports and metrics.
  • Maintaining relations with the suppliers.
  • Receiving and handling the confirmations.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of procurement experience.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; English language knowledge; data entry; ten-key; spreadsheet (PC); ERP software.
  • CIPS certification would be an advantage.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
