To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a new Mechanical Supervisor based out of Hemel Hempstead centre but most days will be on sites.
Summary: Reporting to the local Site Service Manager, this is a UK-based role with significant international travel, including extended assignments across Europe.
What a typical day looks like:
- Overseeing and supervising all maintenance and installation works, including equipment dispatched to site
- Supervising and coordinating employees and contractors on site
- Interconnecting LV switchgear
- Monitoring project progress and providing status reports
- Completing certificates and documentation for client handover and testing
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders as required
- Ensuring works are delivered efficiently while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Implementing and promoting effective risk management practices
- Identifying, assessing, and controlling health and safety hazards
- Leading QHSE compliance and ensuring awareness across all site activities
- Conducting site risk assessments and maintaining accurate records
- Delivering toolbox talks and task briefings
- Ensuring method statements are communicated, understood, and followed
- Verifying workforce competence and appropriate training for tasks
- Ensuring Permit to Work systems are correctly applied
- Monitoring site activities and intervening promptly to address issues or unsafe practices
- Ensuring proper use and maintenance of PPE, tools, and equipment, including safe work at height
- Promoting site safety, welfare, fire prevention, and reporting incidents/near misses to the Project Manager
The experience & qualification we're looking to add to our team:
- A current SSSTS & UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate
- A valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate
- A current and relevant ESC Card
- Experience in Mechanical installation of Switchgear and in a supervisor role
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious with a high standard of attention to detail
- Must be able to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment and demonstrate flexibility
- Full UK driving license
- Eligibility to work in the UK
