Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Commissioning Manager located in Service Centre in Hemel Hempstead, covering sites across the UK and occasionally Europe. Reporting to the Service Centre Operations Manager, EMEA, the Commissioning Manager role involves leading site commissioning activities within data centre environments, ensuring safe, high-quality delivery of installation, maintenance, and commissioning projects.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead and manage on-site commissioning activities, including switchgear, LV systems, and UPS installations.
- Supervise site operations, maintenance projects, and contractor activities to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Oversee installation works and ensure all activities are completed in line with approved methods and safety procedures.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure effective implementation of Permit to Work systems and adherence to QHSE requirements.
- Monitor project progress, provide regular updates, and attend commissioning meetings with stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery and high customer satisfaction.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in line with company standards and expectations.
- Complete documentation, testing, and certification for project handover.
- Identify risks and improvement opportunities while promoting a zero harm safety culture.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Proven experience in commissioning, site management, or electrical project delivery within data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of switchgear, LV systems, and UPS commissioning.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a related field (commissioning, electrical engineering, or site management).
- Solid understanding of QHSE regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary site activities.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, method statements, and project specifications.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Full clean and valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to site locations as required.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., Electrical Engineering or similar) preferred.
