Print Assistant / Finisher Location – Wakefield, West Yorkshire – must live within a commutable distance and own transport (ideally) Rate of pay: £23.5k – £24.5k pa + shift allowance Benefits: * Parking available on site * Above average paid holidays * Life insurance Our client is seeking to appoint a Print Assistant / Finisher who will be responsible for: * Ensuring the required materials are available in full and provided on time to the press. * the final stages of the printing processes, which can include cutting, folding, rolling and packing of the finished product. * Contributing to the high standard of finished product. Specific duties will include: * Working effectively with the Printer to help ensure maximum output of product. * Removing and inspecting printed products from the machine and to notify the Printer of any quality issues. * Bagging and packing finished product into boxes, ensuring that it is correctly labelled. * Removing waste from the machine and disposing of it in the designated area. * Undertaking regular cleaning / housekeeping within the print production area including machine cleaning. * Undertaking pre-press activity in readiness for the next print run. You are used to working in a fast-paced production environment and must already have experience as a Print Assistant / Print Finisher, undertaking the types of duties as outlined above. You will also be required to operate a forklift truck to move material and finished product, but don’t worry if you don’t have a current forklift truck license as our client is willing to provide training. In terms of the type of person being sought, they are looking for someone who: * Print /print fishing experience (essential) * Lives within a commutable distance to Wakefield * has a keen eye for detail * is numerate * can demonstrate good verbal communication skills * is safety-conscious * is a great team player and demonstrates a flexible approach to work. This role involves extensive manual handling activities, and you will be on your feet for most of the day. Workdays and hours: the shift pattern in operation is a split shift worked 6-2 / 2-10 Monday-Friday although you need to be willing and able to work on a 3-shift operation that includes nights if required. The role attracts a shift allowance when working a split shift or night shift. Parking is available on site and benefits include above average paid holidays and life insurance.
