A growing engineering and technology company is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to support the development of new electronic assemblies and embedded hardware products for demanding industrial applications. This is a hands-on development role focused on the design, development and testing of robust electronic circuitry that will be integrated into mechanical sensor and instrumentation packages operating within challenging real-world environments. The role will involve taking low-voltage electronic devices and ASIC-based designs and developing supporting circuitry capable of operating from wider industrial supply ranges whilst meeting EMC and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop analogue and mixed-signal electronic assemblies
  • Develop circuitry to interface low-voltage electronics with 12–36VDC industrial power systems
  • Support PCB design, schematic capture and hardware development activities
  • Carry out hardware debugging, validation and testing
  • Contribute to EMC-conscious electronic design and compliance activities
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical and production engineering
  • Support product development from concept through to manufacture

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or similar
  • Strong background in analogue and mixed-signal electronics design
  • Experience designing power conditioning and protection circuitry
  • Good understanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques
  • Experience with industrial or embedded electronic product development
  • Experience of schematic capture and PCB design tools
  • Hands-on approach to hardware development and testing

Any experience in the following would be beneficial:

  • Sensor electronics
  • ASIC integration
  • Industrial communication interfaces
  • Automotive or harsh-environment electronics
  • DC-DC converters and power supply design
  • Embedded systems
