A vacancy has arisen within the Transport department for a Transport Planner, working alongside the existing members of the Transport team. You will join our client on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.
Our client is the leading supplier of fitted kitchens and bedrooms for new build homes with a market share of over 50%. They supply leading housebuilders such as Barratt and Taylor Wimpey, as well as developers of inner city high rise projects and social housing providers where a diverse product range and outstanding service sets them apart. Their investment in the largest field based team in the industry, along with outstanding manufacturing capabilities, delivery process and after-sales service means they have built strong long-term relationships with their customers. The Transport Planner role: This position will suit a person with transport and vehicle routing knowledge. Working hours will be 12.00pm – 8.30pm Monday to Friday.
The key responsibilities of our Transport Planner will include:
- Planning the drivers and fleet both onsite and at the regional out-based depots to achieve set planned deliveries nationwide.
- Efficient routing of the fleet to maximise and maintain customer service whilst ensuring legal compliance with driver working hours and fuel utilisation.
- Assisting the rest of the team in other functions within the office.
In order to succeed in this Transport Planner role, you must have:
- A good national geographical knowledge would be an advantage.
- Experience of planning vehicles nationwide.
- A background in transport.
You will be:
- Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Able to manage your own work time to achieve timed daily duties.
- Able to work within a small team.
