The Role: This is a hands‑on supervisory role where you'll be at the heart of the factory, working closely with the Production Manager to keep operations running smoothly, efficiently, and to a high standard. You'll be leading from the front — supporting the team, driving productivity, and ensuring quality is never compromised.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Contract: Self‑employed for the first 3 months, with a clear pathway to a permanent position.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure jobs are completed and dispatched on time.
- Keep production running efficiently and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Carry out quality checks to maintain high standards and compliance.
- Support operatives on a day‑to‑day basis, providing guidance and problem‑solving support.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the factory team.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Conduct 1-2‑1s with operatives to support performance and progression.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous supervisory experience within a joinery or furniture manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience operating machinery (CNC experience advantageous).
- Confidence using or learning computer‑controlled machinery.
- A proactive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and grow within the business.
- A reliable, professional approach to work.
