Overview
Join to apply for the Analytical Scientist role at Anonymous. This is a 12-month temporary role, Monday to Friday; Full-time at Thornton Science Park.
Main Purpose
To plan, execute and interpret experimental work to support analysis and method development/validation for new materials. Provide analytical support to growth F&EM projects.
Responsibilities
- Execute routine analysis of materials in support of Battery Business using various techniques (KF, IC, MS3000, IC, ICP-OES).
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment in support of other teams.
- Manage service contracts of the analytical equipment and ensure the chemical inventory and hazard plans are up to date following SHEQ standards.
- Maintain SHEQ systems and standards of their work area, undertake Risk Assessment and write SOPs.
- Understand the commercial relevance of the work undertaken and ensure that the work is of commercial value.
- Provide quality data and present at project meetings when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related subject.
- Final project in analytical chemistry or similar would be desirable.
- Knowledge of analytical techniques.
- Interpretation of results from different analytical techniques and use statistical tools to evaluate trends.
- Use of Microsoft Office and data analysis software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
- Excellent organisation skills and independent problem solver.
- Ability to promote safe behaviour and take responsibility for safe lab operations.
- Good knowledge of safe working practices including writing Risk Assessments, procedures and COSHH.
- Good communication skills.
