Pro Staff Construction Ltd are working with an established construction contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Director to join their senior leadership team. This is a key strategic appointment for the business and would suit an experienced finance professional with a strong background within construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance team, including junior finance staff and purchase ledgers
- Oversee financial operations across the Construction Company, and multiple SPV companies
- Review and approve VAT returns, payroll, CIS returns, and management accounts
- Prepare and present monthly consolidated management accounts to the board
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts and cashflow reporting
- Manage tight cashflow positions effectively and provide strategic financial guidance
- Work closely with technical, commercial, land, and construction teams
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
- Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or Senior Financial Controller within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of VAT, CIS, payroll, forecasting, and cashflow management
- Experience managing multiple entities / SPVs
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Ideally, experience working within larger businesses with a turnover of £50m+
