Pro Staff Construction Ltd are working with an established construction contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Director to join their senior leadership team. This is a key strategic appointment for the business and would suit an experienced finance professional with a strong background within construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the finance team, including junior finance staff and purchase ledgers
  • Oversee financial operations across the Construction Company, and multiple SPV companies
  • Review and approve VAT returns, payroll, CIS returns, and management accounts
  • Prepare and present monthly consolidated management accounts to the board
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and cash flow reporting
  • Manage tight cash flow positions effectively and provide strategic financial guidance
  • Work closely with technical, commercial, land, and construction teams
  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or Senior Financial Controller within the construction sector
  • Strong understanding of VAT, CIS, payroll, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Experience managing multiple entities / SPVs
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Relevant accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Ideally, experience working within larger businesses with a turnover of £50m+
