Annyalla Chicks is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning & Development Officer to join our growing business. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing our people, supporting operational excellence, and embedding a strong culture of learning across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training and development programmes that enhance employee capability, compliance, and performance across our hatcheries, farms, and support functions. You will work closely with managers and teams to identify training needs and ensure learning solutions are practical, engaging, and aligned to business objectives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about people development who enjoys working in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment and making a real impact at all levels of the business. The position is based in Market Weighton, with regular travel required to our farms and hatcheries across the UK. A company car or travel allowance will be provided to support this.
Role Description
- Evaluate training programmes through feedback surveys and performance metrics, making improvements as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in learning technologies, teaching methodologies, and organisational development strategies.
- Foster strong communication channels with key stakeholders to ensure training aligns with organisational objectives.
- Conduct role‑specific training needs assessments.
- Liaise with compliance team in identifying gaps in learning requirements and prioritising development schedules.
- Work with managers to understand skills gaps and future workforce requirements.
- Develop structured training plans, competency frameworks, and learning pathways.
- Create engaging learning materials (presentations, workbooks).
- Ensure all training content aligns with legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Assistance with onboarding and induction programmes for new starters.
- Coach managers and supervisory team members on people development and performance improvement.
- Maintain accurate training records and certification logs.
- Monitor mandatory training completion and escape non‑compliance.
- Support internal and external audits by providing evidence of training activity.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using KPIs, feedback, and performance outcomes.
- Recommend improvements to training content, delivery methods, and learning systems.
- Liaise with HR, Operations, Compliance, and Health & Safety teams to align training with business needs.
- Support managers in developing team capability and succession planning.
