Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living, according to their individual needs.
- Observe the care planning needs of residents and complete daily records as instructed and in line with Company’s policy and procedure.
- Follow the competency‑based training and, under the supervision of the Unit/Home manager, ensure the resident’s medication is stored correctly, administered in line with company policy and professional guidelines, and manage and coordinate the supply of medication communicating with Pharmacy to ensure there is always a supply of medication as required.
- Ensure audits are completed – Report and record any discrepancies in line with the facility medicine policy.
- Ensure that staff are making the best use of the aids available in assisting residents who have limited mobility, or physical difficulties.
- Monitor and report on the condition of palliative care/end‑of‑life residents.
- Promote the rights, dignity, privacy, respect, & choice to every resident when providing care.
- Support & encourage residents to maintain their independence in all aspects of daily living.
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Maths and English.
- Basic IT skills.
- Minimum of NVQ Level 2 with willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3.
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- 6+ months experience in working in care.
- Will be required to be signed off as competent at the induction training.
- Available to work a flexible shift pattern including 1:1 support, evenings and weekends.
- All Ann’s Care Home Health Care Assistant staff will be required to complete and obtain a minimum 60% in Level 2 of The Deprivation of Liberty module.
- Eligibility to work in UK.
