We are recruiting for an experienced and driven Workshop Supervisor to take ownership of a busy, fast-paced workshop in Kettering. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a technical environment and enjoys leading from the front. Managing a fleet of HGVs alongside plant machinery, you will play a crucial role in keeping operations running efficiently, safely, and compliantly.

Workshop Supervisor’s Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the workshop team
  • Carry out and oversee maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and plant equipment
  • Plan and manage workshop schedules to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability
  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA/VOSA regulations and health & safety standards
  • Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and inspection records
  • Liaise closely with transport and operations teams to coordinate workload
  • Manage stock levels, parts ordering, and workshop consumables

Skills & Experience Required as a Workshop Supervisor:

  • Proven hands-on experience working with HGVs and/or plant machinery
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a workshop or maintenance environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles and plant equipment
  • Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of transport compliance, inspections, and regulations
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
