Anne Corder Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced part time Receptionist to join a professional and welcoming organisation based in Peterborough for an ongoing temporary assignment. The role will be working 8am - 4pm the first week and just mornings thereafter.

As the first point of contact for visitors, callers and colleagues, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive first impression. We’re looking for someone who is naturally warm and approachable, but equally professional, discreet and organised. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the heart of an office and takes pride in providing an excellent level of service.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Welcoming and registering visitors, ensuring they receive a professional and friendly first impression
  • Answering, screening and directing incoming calls and enquiries
  • Managing meeting room bookings and maintaining accurate visitor logs
  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing post and couriers
  • Ensuring the reception area remains tidy, organised and professional
  • Supporting colleagues with general administration, including calendar coordination, scanning documents and travel arrangements
  • Handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion
  • Responding calmly and professionally to sensitive or distressed callers and escalating appropriately
  • Following relevant data protection and health & safety procedures

What we’re looking for:

  • You’ll ideally have previous reception, front-of-house or customer-facing experience within a professional environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional telephone manner
  • A naturally welcoming and helpful approach
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm when reception or telephone lines are busy
  • Good Microsoft Office and calendar management skills
  • Experience using visitor management or CRM systems would be beneficial
  • A professional approach to handling confidential information
  • Reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider office team
