ACR are working with a widely recognised British manufacturer who are recruiting for a talented and experienced individual to join their business working across three main sites: Peterborough, Bardney and Bishops Stortford. In this role, you will take lead on HSE strategy execution, oversee risk management and investigations whilst delivering practical improvement plans that embed high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. This opportunity suits an experienced HSE professional looking to make an immediate impact in a senior interim role within manufacturing. The position starts as a 12 month FTC.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager’s Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage health, safety, and environmental compliance across manufacturing and office locations, ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation and standards.
  • Drive positive safety culture and behavioural change by developing, implementing, and embedding practical HSE improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee risk management processes, incident investigations, and corrective actions to ensure root causes are identified and effectively addressed.
  • Provide HSE governance and support for operational and capital projects, ensuring risks are identified and controlled throughout project lifecycles.
  • Design and deliver HSE training, coaching, and engagement activities, working closely with site leadership to improve awareness, ownership, and performance.
Skills & Experience Required as a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager:
  • IOSH membership; NEBOSH qualification or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven HSE leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Background open to FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, engineering, chemical, or regulated production sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioural safety and cultural change.
  • Experience managing risk registers, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Confident influencing stakeholders at all levels and working across multiple sites.

This Health, Safety and Environment Manager position is paying an annual salary package of between £50,000 - £60,000 with a car allowance.
