We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join a well-established workshop working on a modern fleet of trucks and trailers in a busy, professional environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician looking for a varied, hands-on role with excellent facilities and a supportive team.

Salary: £49,000 + Overtime
As part of a skilled workshop team of around 20, you will work alongside mechanics, welder/fabricators, tyre fitters and supervisors to service and repair a fleet of trucks and trailers to high safety and operational standards. The fleet includes leading manufacturers such as Scania, Volvo and DAF, along with a diverse range of trailers.
HGV Technician’s Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers to maintain high safety and operational standards.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults across a mixed fleet of heavy vehicles and trailers.
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT testing, ensuring all work meets regulatory compliance and workshop quality standards.
- Support workshop operations including fabrication, modifications and general maintenance tasks where required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed while ensuring the workshop remains safe, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
Skills & Experience Required as a HGV Technician:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in HGV Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience working on HGV vehicles and trailers in a busy workshop environment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- High attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality and compliance standards.
- A reliable team player with good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
