We’re delighted to be partnering with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced HR Manager to join their leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping culture, driving employee engagement, and supporting operational excellence within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting directly to the Site Director, you'll be a trusted business partner responsible for leading all aspects of HR across the site. You'll have the opportunity to influence business strategy, develop people initiatives, and build high-performing teams while creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture. This role would suit a proactive and hands-on HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic HR initiatives with operational delivery and is looking for a position where they can make a genuine impact.
What You'll Be Doing as HR Manager:
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all people-related matters
- Driving employee engagement initiatives and fostering a culture where people are at the centre of everything the business does
- Leading the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and people strategies aligned to business objectives
- Managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, and conflict resolution processes
- Establishing and leading development initiatives, including management development programmes to build leadership capability
- Supporting training needs analysis and promoting continuous learning and career progression across the workforce
- Creating and delivering effective employee communication programmes, engagement forums, surveys, and town hall events
- Overseeing performance management processes and supporting managers to drive accountability and high performance
- Managing compensation, benefits, payroll administration, and reward initiatives to ensure fairness and value
- Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation, industry standards, and statutory obligations
- Leading end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction activities while building strong partnerships with local agencies and training providers
What We're Looking For – HR Manager:
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards qualification) or equivalent experience
- HR experience, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, food production, or a similarly fast-paced operational environment
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience managing a broad generalist HR remit, including employee relations, recruitment, engagement, and performance management
- Confident working both strategically and operationally with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to balance day-to-day priorities with long-term business objectives
- Experience within SME environments and knowledge of food manufacturing compliance standards would be advantageous
